Claude Tremblay PT, DPT, COMT
RehabXcel, in its present location, was formally known as the Physical Therapy Clinic of New Iberia, a practice owned and operated by the former Mr. Lindsey Dumond. From its inception in 1962, the practice has been owned and operated by physical therapists dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and wellbeing of the people of New Iberia, and surroundings. Although the ownership of the clinic, its location and its name did change over the years our commitment to serving our patients remains unchanged.

Dr. Claude Tremblay, PT, DPT, COMT

Dr. Tremblay was born and raised in Quebec, Canada. He received his professional degree from McGill University (Montreal Canada), where he studied biochemistry and subsequently Physical Therapy. Following his graduation in 1995 he was recruited to work in the United States. After completing a two year contract at West Jefferson Medical Center, he joined RehabXcel where he became the clinic director. In addition to his duties as an out-patient physical therapist, he also served as a rink side clinician for the Louisiana Icegators, between 1997-2000. In 2000 he partnered with Mr. John C. Musso and acquired the practice, and subsequently became the sole owner in 2004. In addition to his primary role as a clinician and administrator, he also volunteers in providing Sports Medicine coverage for local athletic programs. He is currently in charge of the Sports Medicine program at Highland Baptist Christian School where he helps in the prevention and management of sports related injuries.

In addition to countless hours spent learning, studying, and attending professional conferences and continuing education, Dr. Tremblay chose to return to school in 2000. His desire for a higher education was to better understand his profession to better serve his patient. He lives by the words: "A clinician's dedication to his professional development directly reflects his commitment to patient care". His first post-professional achievement came in 2002 when he received his Certification as an Orthopedic Manual Therapist. The next 2 years were dedicate to the successful completion and defense of his doctoral dissertation which resulted in receiving the title of Doctor of Physical Therapy in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy.

It is of note that Dr. Tremblay is proficient in both french and english, which does come handy living in South Louisiana.
